Charlotte Rescue Mission

Yesterday, Nancy King, our independent living coordinator and I met with Rev. Tony Marciano at the Charlotte Rescue Mission. We were very blessed. Tony clearly loves the Lord and loves people. He is now my official friend and brother.

We talked about the prolife movement. Tony helped me to realize that Lois' Lodge is not prolife, we are PRO-LIVING. It is one thing to save a life by preventing an abortion. It is another to come alongside the mom and the child to try to affect the quality of those lives for the future, and into eternity.

Tony equated it with the concept of salvation and sanctification. As Christians we called to salvation but the Bible also talks about the spiritual discipline of sanctification. Sanctification is the process by which the Holy Spirit gradually changes the believer's life to give victory over sin. This is Christian growth, putting away sin and putting on godliness (Ro. 6:19,22; 1 Th. 4:3,4; 1 Pe. 1:14-16). This process of sanctification is supposed to be ongoing in this life (1 Jn. 1:8-10). The Christian is called to resist sin until he is taken from this world at death or at the return of Christ.

Just as the process involved with being a Christian does not stop once we are saved, our involvement at Lois' Lodge goes beyond saving the unborn. We are not just pro-life, we are pro-living.

Thank you Tony for taking the time to minister to two tired warriors. I left our time together feeling revitalized and encouraged. Debbie
