It is sad that the child could have had a better chance with a family than with a welfare dependant young mother. I wish we saw on here more positive stories about you making a difference in the lives of moms and children instead of being smacked in the face with the fact that children are parenting children.

Without ministries like Lois' Lodge this woman might have chosen an aborion.
Thank you for providing for women in crisis and the unborn and thank you for sharing the gospel of Christ with them. I beleive that God has a plan for this baby and Lois' Lodge was a part of that.

"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32

It is always a challenge when a women, no matter what age, is experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. Lois' Lodge exists to provide services after the pregnancy has already occurred. We encourage our girls to make the very best choice on behalf of their child's future. Lois' Lodge is pro-adoption and we strive to help our clients to understand that adoption can be a very positive choice in the case of an unplanned pregnancy. We also believe that it is best for a child to have two parents, a mom and a dad. But- ultimately, the mom is the one who makes the decision as to whether she will parent or allow someone else to parent her child. If she chooses to parent we do everything that we can to equip her so that her baby will be well cared for.

I really am sorry that you feel "smacked in the face" with the fact that "children are parenting children". Unfortunately that is reality and that is one of the reasons why this ministry exists. The Lois' Lodge blog seeks to help people to be aware of current news and issues relative to the topics of unplanned and teenage pregnancy, abortion, adoption and today's culture. We, like you, would be thrilled if all babies were conceived within the context of a healthy family. Since they are not, we try to help to assure that women have an alternative to abortion, experience a healthy pregnancy and are taught the skills needed to be an effective parent.

We appreciate you comments. We are going to make every effort to share more good news through the Lois' Lodge blog. We also encourage you to contact us to be added to our mailing list. Crib Notes, the Lois' Lodge newsletter contains stories about how our clients have been blessed through their Lois' Lodge experience.
