We are celebrating at Lois' Lodge. One of your young moms has made an abstinence pledge. She has signed a card stating the following:
"Believing that true love waits, I make a commitment to God, myself, my family, my friends, my future mate, and my future children to a lifetime of purity including sexual abstinence from this day until the day I enter a biblical marriage relationship."
Some of you may be reading this and saying- "Um, excuse me Debbie. This girl is pregnant. There is no way that she can be a virgin again." This is what I tell our clients, "secondary virginity" is a decision to abstain from sexual activity, starting with today and continuing until the day you get married. It’s an opportunity to start over. Your physical virginity may be lost, but virginity is more than just a physical state. It’s an attitude, a frame of mind. It’s manifested in the way you look at yourself and others.
Secondary virginity is a time to change bad habits and heal past wounds. It allows you to clean and renew yourself prior to marriage.
When one of our residents makes a commitment for Secondary Virginity we purchase a ring for her. The ring says "True Love Waits" and it a reminder of her commitment to God and herself. Good stuff is always happening at Lois' Lodge. Get involved!!!
